Eligibility requirements for Daniels Scholarship Program 2024-2025

To be eligible for the Daniels Scholarship Program 2024-2025, students must meet the following requirements at the time of application:

  1. Graduating High School Senior: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors.
  2. Residency: Applicants must be residents of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, or Wyoming.
  3. Citizenship Status: Applicants must be either citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
  4. Academic Achievement: Applicants must have earned a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on an unweighted 4.0 scale in high school.
  5. Standardized Test Scores: Applicants must achieve a minimum SAT Math score of 490 and a minimum Evidence-Based Reading & Writing score of 490, or a minimum ACT score of 18 in each category (writing score not required). Super scoring is not accepted.
  6. Financial Eligibility: The financial eligibility criteria are determined based on the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of the applicant’s parent(s) or legal guardian(s) on the 2023 tax return on which the applicant is claimed as a dependent. The AGI must be $85,000 or less. Additional income allowances are provided for each dependent, as follows:
    • $5,000 for each additional dependent not in college
    • $15,000 for each additional dependent in college full time during the 2023-2024 academic year

Applicants must meet all of these requirements to be considered eligible for the Daniels Scholarship Program.

During the application process, applicants must provide documentation to verify their eligibility for the Daniels Scholarship Program. This includes:

  • Parent(s) or legal guardian(s) 2023 federal tax return
  • High school transcript
  • ACT/SAT scores
  • Citizenship and residency documentation

Completing the FAFSA is recommended as soon as possible after it opens on September 16.
  4. All Semi-Finalists will be notified in January whether they have been selected as a Finalist. Finalists will be invited to participate in a personal interview, which will be conducted in February and March by local community leaders.
  5. Daniels Scholars will be announced in late March, and they must attend a scholarship orientation conference in June. All expenses for the conference are covered by the Daniels Fund.
